They struggle to overcome forces that seek to keep the girl, Sorina, enslaved in degradation. The novel spans locations from Eastern Europe to Australia to the United States.

 

Joe Cohen is the author of six published works of fiction. Two others are waiting in the wings — Spud the Cold Potato, a children’s epic, and The Time of Pedro, a novel of the Spanish Inquisition. Mr. Cohen has been a lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, with interruptions for the army and peripatetic travels.
