ABOUT THE BOOK
The Ten Ox-Herding Pictures have been used for over one-thousand years as a teaching paradigm for individuals on a spiritual path of awakening and liberation from ego-self’s conditioned dualities, separations, ignorance, attachments and errors and of realizing original, inborn and enlightened True Nature.
The ten pictures are Way-stations of the path of becoming enlightened True Nature. The Ox-herder symbolizes our limited ego-self and the Ox, our sought after True Nature.
Presented are a brief history of Buddhism and Zen/Ch’an Buddhism, original Ox-herding pictures, text renditions, synoptic comments and psychospiritual commentaries.
