ABOUT THE BOOK

This book describes the loss of democracy in our world by a person who witnessed its dissolution. It chronicles the origins of democracy and what those in once-democratic societies failed to do to save it.

"Democracy failed because we failed to treat others with the respect that we want from them. We became each other's enemies, spurred to hatred by those who led us to the edge of oblivion. But there really are no foes who brought this upon us, only our willingness to create the illusion that some are our enemies."
